Friday Finds: New Balance + MyStryde
On Wednesday I attended a fun event hosted by New Balance at MyStryde in the North End. I was interested in popping in both because I'm a runner (MyStryde is a brand new indoor running studio) and because I had never set foot on a treadmill before -- no joke! I think this has been due in part because I like running outside, and also because I've held a vision of Bill Murray a la Lost In Translation in my mind. I was convinced I'd be treadmill roadkill!

On that note, I first want to say that it was so lovely to kick off the holiday season with a chill date night -- I highly recommend you do that next year! And second, I wanted to share a few reasons why Besito is a great meetup spot:

Meanwhile, if you're looking to work on your swizzles and axels, Laura has assembled this awesome list of 41 indoor ice skating rinks in Boston and beyond. Enjoy!

Local Gems: Fort Point, Boston
I'm thrilled to return to the Local Gems series with a roundup of 19 awesome recommendations from Rachel Borgatti, Executive Director of the Friends of Fort Point Channel. When Rachel isn't working to make Fort Point a great place to live, work, and play (you may bump into her distributing free maps of the area!), she's taking her two little kids gallery hopping where they fill up on crackers and complain that their favorite art pieces changed from last time. Thanks for sharing these amazing recommendations, Rachel!

Local Gems (Special Edition): 3 Maker Sites
Today, Lindsey shares a special local gems edition, focused on 3 fantastic maker sites:

Though my 10-year-old son likes hockey and baseball, his true passion seems to lie in science and engineering. He's a budding maker, wants to be a robot designer, is often found poring over a book about physics, has a periodic table poster on his wall, loves Minecraft, and delights in home science projects (cue baking soda and vinegar!).
