Spring Comfort Picks
For the majority of this pandemic, my spending has largely focused on groceries and pet supplies. And given how much of a hermit I have been, I haven’t wanted or needed much; fashion has just not been a priority.
But life has been kind of brutal the last couple of months so I recently was like, YES, I AM GONNA TREAT MYSELF! I was originally thinking that this would be the time where I got excited about cute spring clothing, but as I prowled around online, I found that I continued to gravitate towards comfort items. This is just where my brain and reality are and I am here for embracing it! And I thought it would be fun to share the comfort picks that are giving me life these days for those of you in a similar zone.

J. Crew Factory Sweatshirts
This time last year I discovered the genius that is sweatshirts that look like real shirts and I am going to ride this train FOREVER. Yes, the temperatures are starting to warm up but it’s always chillier in my house, I am always cold, and sweatshirts during summer evenings are awesome so you can never have enough sweatshirts in my book.
The buttons on this button-collar pullover sweatshirt are a genius looks-like-a-real-shirt addition. I bought the sweatshirt in pink but it comes in 6 other colors too.
This zebra printed crewneck sweatshirt is awesome. In person, you can tell it's a sweatshirt but on Zoom, Instagram Stories, and in photos, you cannot tell it's a sweatshirt. Ask me how I know!
J. Crew Factory Sweater Blazers
While you're at J. Crew Factory, I highly recommend you add some sweater blazers to your cart. I already owned three (camel, gray, navy) and bought it in pink last month. These are perfect for when you want to look profesh but basically feel like you're wearing a sweatshirt!
J. Crew Dreamy Pajamas
I asked for these dreamy long-sleeved pajamas for my birthday last year and did not receive them so I recently bought them for myself. I typically sleep in ratty old t-shirts and yoga pants with holes in them and I decided it was high time to level up my PJ game since I love sleeping so much.
Pact Pants
Thanks to the pandemic, none of my non-stretchy pants fit anymore. The good news is that I have evolved and am good with the fact that bodies change and am OK going the next size up but when I was browsing for pants recently, I was like, “OK, I have ZERO interest in wearing any type of constricting pant. Why bother?!” I have never so aggressively refreshed the shipping status of an online order as I did after placing my Pact order. These pants were exactly what I was looking for because I did not want leggings and I did not want anything cropped and it is shocking how difficult that is to find.
I bought a pair of these essential vintage sweatpants because I actually only have one pair of full-length (not cropped! I don't want cropped!) sweatpants and they are EXHAUSTED. I looooove these sweatpants (I am wearing them right now) and am keeping my eye on the site for when other colors come back in stock because I want another pair or two!
And I bought two pairs of these perfectly lightweight casual pants thinking that I will experiment with seeing if I can make them look like real pants (a la sweatshirts that look like real shirts). Or not. I mean, really, I care so little!
Ryka Walking Sneakers
I have bunions, which makes shoe shopping challenging. After a few failed attempts I did some research on sneakers for bunions and ordered the Ryka Women's Devotion Plus 3 Walking Shoe. OMG these have a nice cushy base and there's no pressure on my bunions.
OOFOS Recovery Sandals
I bought another pair of these OOFOS recovery sandals when they were on sale; they are magic. I have a couple of pairs for outside use and now I have a fresh pair for indoors only this summer.
SeoulCeuticals Snail Cream
Korean beauty products are no joke and when I was recently looking for eye cream I landed on this SeoulCeuticals Korean Skin Care Snail Repair Cream and was like BRING ON THE SNAIL MUCIN. I'm happy to report that this cream actually smells fantastic, not like what I imagine snails smell like.
DERMAL Korea collagen face masks
I recently picked up a set of these DERMAL Korea Collagen Essence face masks ($9.99 for the whole set!) and am going to use one a week. And hey, snail mask!
Yoga With Adriene
Yoga with Adriene has saved me through this pandemic and so far, I have done yoga every day of 2021. She has been posting a monthly playlist, which I riff on depending on how much time I have.
